Surely founder members'children will be eligible to gain entry when the time comes, after all this hard work your children not gaining access would be totally incomprehensible!!

On 26th May 10 Anita Kapoor said: I beleive that the way forward for education are the free school projects. This will not only improve the education of local schools but give parents a choice.
On 26th May 10 Richard Green said: Toby: “It’s not as if that many schools are going to opt out of local authority control and become academies”. Well, it might be. Gove: “I’d like, in due course, academy status to become the norm”.

This would involve a one off exception that would not be repeated. This would allow you to stick to the original idea, that did seem to matter to the project, rather than change to a lottery system that compromises the original idea and the significance of a local, community school. Either way involved a deviation from what you were advocating but one solution involves far less ideological compromise

On 30th September 10 dj said: I agree with Sarah Ward. A major point of creating a free school must surely be to trim the inefficiencies off the top down rules and stop heavy handed bureaucracy getting in the way of common sense. It obviously makes sense for there to be an exception for founders' children.
